Denyse Karn has been designing sets, projections and costumes in Canadian theatre for the past 40 years. She has focused on integrating new technology, multi-media, digital imaging and video projection into her design practice. Through the use and manipulation of projected images, she has been able to create dynamic performance spaces that allow for a truly collaborative adventure with directors, playwrights, other designers, actors and audiences. Denyse is a graduate of the TMU Theatre School and has her BFA from NSCAD University. Denyse is an award-winning designer and has received many Dora Mavor Moore nominations and awards, a Chalmer’s Award and four Merritt Award (Nova Scotia Theatre Award) for Outstanding Set, Projection and Costume design. Denyse is a full member of Associated Designers of Canada and IATSE Local ADC659.
